Qipao (Chinese: 旗袍; pinyin: Qípáo), also known as Cheongsam (Chinese: 长衫; pinyin: Chángshān) in Cantonese, is a traditional Chinese dress with a long history. It originated from the Manchu people's clothing during the Qing Dynasty and gradually evolved into a fashionable garment for women in the 20th century.

The qipao is characterized by its close-fitting design, high collar, and long sleeves. It usually reaches the ankle and has a slit on the side, revealing a portion of the wearer's leg.
